Winter holidays in Lech am Arlberg

Winter away from the pistes

There is much more to winter in Lech am Arlberg than just skiing and snowboarding. Tobogganing, ice skating, winter walking and horse-drawn carriage rides through the snowy landscape are just some of the alternative activities on offer. Or how about something a little more spectacular such as tandem paragliding or a heliskiing adventure to untouched powder slopes?

Lech Ski School
Always dreamt of carving first tracks in pristine powder? Or do you want to work on your technique with an expert instructor? The Lech Ski School offers group courses, one-to-one lessons and off-piste guiding as well as introductions to alternative winter sports such as cross-country skiing.

Snowshoeing in and around Lech

Step by step through the mountains

Snowshoeing is a great way to escape the busy pistes and get back to nature. There are plenty of trails in and around Lech designed for winter walking and snowshoeing. Snowshoes and poles can be hired from one of the local sports shops. Experienced guides are also available.

Cross-country skiing in the Arlberg region

Experience winter at a slower pace

Cross-country skiing is a wonderfully gentle sport where you can get back to nature while at the same time enjoying a full-body workout. Explore the peaceful Zugertal Valley or try out the trail from Zürs to the Flexen pass and back again.

Toboggan run in Oberlech

Full speed ahead!

Tobogganing is a great activity for all the family. There is a 1.2-kilometre toboggan run nearby in Oberlech which is open both during the day and also in the evening, when it is lit up with powerful floodlights.

Ice skating & traditional curling

Ice, ice baby!

There is an outdoor ice rink near our hotel in Zürs (outdoor). As well as ice skating they also offer "Eisstockschießen", a winter sport traditional to the Alps which is similar to curling. In the evening there is the chance to enjoy a little skating under the stars.
