Local guide Christian Fritz knows Lech am Arlberg like the back of his hand. There is hardly a trail in the region that he hasn't hiked or biked. He runs the Alpinschule Widderstein and will be happy to take you on a guided bike ride or hike into the mountains. Arlberg Alpin is our outdoor partner in Lech am Arlberg. As part of the Lech Card it offers a special childcare service in July and August where experienced guides invite youngsters to learn about the mountains. There are also activities at weekends for all the family including activities such as walks to local gorges and wildwater hydrospeed.

In the nearby village of Schröcken there is a Zipwire Park where brave visitors can let themselves be strapped into a harness and whizz their way down from the mountain to the valley. A great day out for all the family and a chance to see who really is the bravest out of Mum, Dad and the kids!

The Lech-Zürs region is home to Austria's highest golf course. Perched at 1,500 metres above sea level, is is located in the Zugertal Valley and comprises nine beautiful holes – with a few tricky ones where golfers will need concentration and a steady hand. The terrain is undulating and includes sections close to the Lech river.

Slip, slide and swim
Canyoning is a mountain sport where participants swim, jump and slide their way through the mountains equipped with a wetsuit, helmet and other safety gear if necessary. In Lech there is a canyoning spot suitable for families with natural rock slides, rushing waterfalls and deep plunge pools filled with turquoise-green spring water.

Rock climbing is a great way to test your strength and nerve. On the Rüfikopf mountain above Lech there is a rock climbing area where families can learn all about the right climbing technique and safety procedures before putting them into practice in a secure environment.
